I am working on my first long term knitting project.  After many attempts my gauge is still a bit off so I am hoping the pieces are going to end up fitting together okay and not be too wonky.  

For now I am enjoying moss stitch and my new size 2 bamboo needles.

Happy Easter!

The Easter Bunny came and brought an Easter bag full of fancy treats!

Easter Eggs

Pysanky eggs are Ukrainian Easter eggs.  You use wax to to draw on the eggs and dip them into different colored dyes light to dark.  Where ever you want to keep the color you put the wax.  They are so much fun to do.  I have been known to work for hours on one egg in serious concentration.  I love how brightly colored the dyes are; they always turn out so beautifully.  These photos are from last year.  I am looking forward to this year's eggs.  Time to start thinking about designs.

The nice weather is making me very happy.  I love how everything is blooming and all the bright colors.

Downton Abbey

We just finished watching the first season of Downton Abbey which had aired on PBS in January.  It is an upstairs/downstairs story of the Crawley family and their servants taking place right before World War I.  It was really enjoyable to watch and highly recommend it.  I am glad they are making a second season. 

Farmer's Market

The farmer's market has started up again. 

This week we got some mushroom linguine, sweet potato orzo and beer bread.  

I love having all this good food right outside.
