Anne of Green Gables - A Pop-Up Dollhouse

Yesterday I came home to this amazing gift waiting for me on the kitchen table.

I think it is quite clever how the book opens and ties together to make a 8 room pop-up doll house.

I particularly love the doors including the closet.

I guess forcing Ben to watch the complete Anne of Green Gables series on PBS really made an impression.

Last Night

Last night we attended the opening of the Sophie Blackall exhibit at the Brooklyn Public Library.  She had lots of original drawings, doodles and inspirations from many of the children's books she has illustrated.  It is great to see pieces of her process and the illustrations she does are so great.

I took a children's book illustration class with Sophie at SVA and it was great to see her and hear her give a talk.

It has been a busy week.

Alice

I have been reading Alice in Wonderland.  I bought this copy for Ben a long time ago.
I love the Ralph Steadman illustrations.

The first completed spread from my children's book.
It's about me becoming a big sister.

Harry Potter, Harry Potter, Harry Potter

I started rereading the Harry Potter books after seeing the latest movie,  it was meant to be a Christmas time thing but has expanded much longer.  It is a nice thing to be inside reading when there is so much snow on the ground.
