Kumihimo Braiding

 

 

 

 

I have been really into Kumihimo braiding lately.  Kumihimo is Japanese multi-string braid making.  I have been doing mostly 16 strand braids and experimenting with different patterns in cotton thread.  To make the closure I had the idea to make a loop at the beginning of the braid and then I made a bunch of silver buttons to fasten the bracelet together.  These are the first two completed.  I am rather happy with how they turned out.  I will have to make many more!
