Cast from a small Common Atlantic Auger shell plucked from the shores of Caladesi Island, one of the most beautiful beaches in the country.  This silver shell has a beautiful spiral shape and wonderful texture.

Petal Necklace

 A representation of a flower petal, hand carved in wax and cast in sterling silver. The different surfaces of this piece have been carefully textured so that one side shows a high polish, while the other has a softer, more nuanced feel. The pendant executes a slight twist in its three- dimensional form along its length, allowing these different surfaces to catch the light and show simultaneously, giving the piece a captivating motion.

The pendant measures 1 ¾  inches long and comes on an 18 inch silver chain.

 I love these soft-maps from Haptic Lab.  I have been pining for one for a long time.  They look beautiful and what could be better than a quilt that is a map. 

From their website:

Soft-Maps are quilted maps of cities and neighborhoods that represent someone's unique place in the world, and are tactile keepsakes meant to last generations. Wrap your children in them, have a picnic, pull them close during the next Nor'easter.

I am going to have to learn to quilt to make my own.

I think I am going to be very busy this year with all the classes I am wanting to take.
