This is an experiment in casting sea glass embedded in wax. I am hoping it will turn out, we will see.

More Honey Comb
I got the first honey comb bracelet cast and I am really happy with how it came out. It still needs a lot of finishing work, sanding and polishing but, it is coming along. I love the organic shape and the depth of the comb.
I am trying another bracelet. This one is going to be a bangle. I am making it a lot thinner too so it is lighter on the wrist. This one is also entirely casting wax that I built up on top of the comb and then pulled off.
I am having a lot of fun experimenting and I am going to try a few more versions.
Earrings of one or two cells might be fun to do as well.

Last Night
Last night we attended the opening of the Sophie Blackall exhibit at the Brooklyn Public Library. She had lots of original drawings, doodles and inspirations from many of the children's books she has illustrated. It is great to see pieces of her process and the illustrations she does are so great.
I took a children's book illustration class with Sophie at SVA and it was great to see her and hear her give a talk.
It has been a busy week.
