Five Things For Summer!
1. Camper Sandals
My feet were getting too hot walking around in ballet flats. These sandals were the answer. I am a big fan of Camper shoes. They are really comfortable which is very important to me as I need to be able to walk a lot, far and fast in my shoes.
2. Honey Comb Charm Necklace
You may have noticed I have recently become obsessed with honey comb. I love the repeating geometric shape and I have been having so much fun building a jewelry collection around it. This necklace uses the honey comb pattern in a simple charm. It is great for everyday wear.
3. Bright Pink Nail Polish
I love bright nail polish for summer. It is just fun! I like the Essie color Guilty Pleasures for a nice bright pink.
4. Frozen Yogurt
I have been eating a ton of fresh and frozen yogurt lately. Luckily I live right by Culture which has the best yogurt I have had. I have been particularly into their seasonal strawberry rhubarb topping. The yogurt is so good, cold and filling and the fresh yogurt is great for breakfast and the frozen makes an excellent dessert.
5. Uniqlo Easy Cropped Legging Pants
These cropped pants are comfortable, affordable and flattering. I have been running around everywhere in them.

Leo
I love the stories and myths that correspond to the constellations in the sky. Ben wrote a mini story to go along with each of the zodiac necklaces and I'll be posting them on a monthly basis with the current zodiac sign.
Leo
Once the beast was more well-known than his conqueror - a terror to the countryside, strong and fierce, invulnerable to weapons. The hero found his weakness, however, denying him breath, and wore his great hide thereafter on many famous adventures. The gods reward strength, and now Leo resides in space, air no longer an issue.
The Leo Constellation Necklace was first drawn with pencil and paper and then carved out of wax and cast into sterling silver and brass. Both necklaces are available in the shop.
In astrology Leos are born between July 22 and August 22 and are said to be ambitious and creative. The Leo constellation forms the image of a lion.
The Leo zodiac story is written by Ben Perry.

The Zodiac Collection
Now available in the shop.
The Zodiac Collection depicts the constellations of the twelve zodiac signs.
Each constellation was sketched with pencil and paper and then carved into wax to be cast into sterling silver or golden colored brass. Check it out and let me know what you think.
I have been working on this collection for many months and I am so excited to have it launched!
There is a coupon code for facebook fans available from 7/23/12 till 7/29/12.

Cotton Anniversary
I made a couple T-shirts for Ben for our cotton (second) anniversary.
Once I realized two years was cotton I immediately had a ton of ideas. In the end I settled on two shirts. They both have a book/library theme which worked well since we had book and library elements in our wedding and because Ben is now a working librarian.
I made one shirt with a library card pocket with the book being checkout out on our wedding and anniversary dates.
The other shirt is the children's bookshelf using the image I made from the side of our seating chart. It was a hard choice but since Ben is a children's librarian it seemed like the logical choice. I may end up having to make more shirts of the other shelves.

Cold Brew Coffee and My New To Go Cup
We decided to try out cold brew iced coffee. You make it the night before so in the morning you just add some water and ice and it is ready to go.
We used this recipe from the New York Times.
Cold-Brewed Iced Coffee
Published: June 27, 2007
1/3 cup ground coffee (medium-coarse grind is best)
Milk (optional).
1. In a jar, stir together coffee and 1 1/2 cups water. Cover and let rest at room temperature overnight or 12 hours.
2. Strain twice through a coffee filter, a fine-mesh sieve or a sieve lined with cheesecloth. In a tall glass filled with ice, mix equal parts coffee concentrate and water, or to taste. If desired, add milk.
Yield: Two drinks.
I think the coffee comes out very different from the iced coffee I am used to. It is very smooth and the more I drank it the more I liked it.
My new to go cup, made out of a mason jar and plastic lid. Idea came from 3192 Miles Apart. I like drinking out of a glass container and the pint sized mason jar works perfectly. The lid will also fit on a larger sized jar which I think would be good for sitting with a big drink. The pint size is perfect for taking to work. I chose the wide mouth for easy cleaning. The plastic lid means you can easily drill a straw-sized hole. I have an extra lid with a bigger hole for bubble teas.

Weekend Moments
It was a working weekend so I spent the majority of my time at my work bench and the rest of the time eating. There was a lot of iced coffee and iced tea, the good corn is back at the farmers market, rose wine and dinner out at Thistle Hill Tavern, croissants , ice pops and Chinese food.
And so many jewelry projects in the works!

Calligraphy
I have been doodling a lot at my desk so I decided to try some calligraphy as long as I am sitting.
I got some pens and some books at the library. It will definitely take a lot of practice.
