Knitting Socks

Over Christmas I learned how to knit a sock.
I used the magic loop method which I really enjoyed.  I have previously tried making baby booties on double pointed needles and it did not work out, the stitches were loose where the needles came together.  With the magic loops all the stitches came out nice and even in the round.
I used this video on Knit Picks.
It was very useful to have a video to follow along with instead of just a written pattern, some parts seemed confusing at first but as I followed along it all came together.

The sock feels very cozy and will be perfect to wear with my new boots.
Now on to sock number two!

Ring Bowl

Ben got me this bunny dish to hold my rings.
Now I will stop losing them every time I take them off to work.
Also, I think it is super cute.

Provisional Cast On

I learned how to do the provisional cast on.
Now I am on my way to a seamless loop scarf.

The crochet hook was pretty fun, I might have to do more with it.

New Bezel Ring

I made a coral bezel setting.
I liked the way it stacked with two wave rings.
And it matches my nail polish.

The stockings were hung

I had a bit of a miscalculation when I was making Ben's stocking and it turned out huge.
But since I made it, I have to fill it.
Ben made mine and Mr. Norrell's.

We Joined a CSA

We joined a CSA for cheese!
Every week we get 3/4 of a pound of cheese from Cricket Creek Farm in Massachusetts

It is delicious!

New Bezel Setting

I love the tree ring like pattern in the hichorite stone.  And the bit of purple.

Craftacular

Well, it didn't go so well.
But, I did have a cute outfit.
And an awesome apron thanks to my dearest friend Lizzy.
And I was pretty happy with how my display turned out.

Many thanks to my family and friends for coming by to support me and especially my surprise sister visitor who is taking approximately 10,000 classes and still made time to come all the way to see me.
And of course my amazing husband who helped me with every step and stood with me all day.

Dove

Here is the Dove Charm first sketch and waxes.
The dove is part of my mini holiday collection that will be at the Craftacular on Sunday.

I like to doodle ideas all over the place; then once I have an idea of what I plan to do I make a few different versions in wax to see what comes out.  Then I get my favorite ones cast.

Craftacular Preparations

I have been making some simple drawings of my pieces for some signage for the Craftacular.

I think they are coming out pretty cute.
