Work in Progress

Here are a few signet rings I am working on.  They are just back from casting, rough and covered in plaster.

New Pieces in the Works

These are some rough pieces just picked up from casting.

I am impatiently sitting at my desk awaiting the end of work so I can go home and work on these.

New pieces always make me so excited.  They are my treasures.

Heart and Hands Stacking Rings

I really like the idea of Fede Gimmel rings which are rings with multiple hoops that fit together to form one ring of two hands around a heart.

This is a triple gimmel ring from the 1800s.  I love how the pieces slide together.

I wanted to make my own version as a set of stacking rings.  One ring would be a heart and the other would be clasp hands.

The rings stack together so that the hands fit over the heart.

This one was a first attempt and I like how that hands fit over the hear but, while wearing the ring the hands don't stay put.  I think I will have to make the rings to fit more snugly together.  Also the ring is a bit bulky when stacked, I think I would like to make the hands stacking ring a bit slimmer.

Currently Working On

I have been playing around with some new ring ideas.  This is my favorite of the bunch.
A dainty brass tear drop ring.

Currently Working On

In order to watch the Olympics while working I made myself a temporary couch work space.

Honey Comb Necklace Wax Carving

I have been working with actual honey comb and hard casting wax for the honey comb collection I am currently working on.  This piece is going to be a large statement necklace which really shows off the geometric patterning of the honey comb.  I was inspired by the current trend of collar necklaces while incorporating in my own style with the comb.

I am really excited about this one!

More Honey Comb

I got the first honey comb bracelet cast and I am really happy with how it came out.  It still needs a lot of finishing work, sanding and polishing but, it is coming along.  I love the organic shape and the depth of the comb.

I am trying another bracelet.  This one is going to be a bangle.  I am making it a lot thinner too so it is lighter on the wrist.  This one is also entirely casting wax that I built up on top of the comb and then pulled off.

I am having a lot of fun experimenting and I am going to try a few more versions.

Earrings of one or two cells might be fun to do as well.

Even More Zodiac Constellations

I finished the wax carving for the rest of the zodiac constellations.
I am so excited for this collection to launch at the beginning of June!
