Pysanky Eggs 2013
We watched The Sound of Music and then The Hobbit while we made them. As usual I had no problem spending the entire day decorating eggs.
I made 12 and Ben made 4. Next year we'll need to get a bigger basket.

Ornament Making
I am a big fan of handmade, obviously. I love making things and I love being surrounded by handmade things. In addition to my 2012 Nutcracker ornament we have been making some felt ornaments to decorate our tree. We have a bunch of origami ornaments from previous years and two years ago I made a bunch of narwhal ornaments that I gave out at Christmas time.
Felt ornaments are pretty easy to put together. In our usually overachieving craft style Ben and I made some intricate designs with a lot of hand stitching but you could just as easily keep it simple with an easy pattern and some glue.
This Ursa Major (Big Bear) design originally started as a jewelry idea which I never made. I like how it came out as an ornament.
I like adding to the handmade ornaments every year and having a tree covered in things from all our years together.
I think the dala horse may be my favorite.

Nutcracker Ornament - Limited Edition 2012 Christmas
This Golden Brass Nutcracker Ornament is a special limited edition piece for 2012. I carved the nutcracker out of wax, based on my own drawing. Each piece is then cast into brass and hand finished by me in my Brooklyn studio. A red ribbon is tied to the ornament and it is ready to be hung on the Christmas tree.
This ornament is a great way to commemorate Christmas 2012 and will be a keepsake for years to come.
This ornament is 4 inches tall.
It will arrive wrapped and ready to be given as a gift or kept for yourself.
Now available in the shop.

Cotton Anniversary
I made a couple T-shirts for Ben for our cotton (second) anniversary.
Once I realized two years was cotton I immediately had a ton of ideas. In the end I settled on two shirts. They both have a book/library theme which worked well since we had book and library elements in our wedding and because Ben is now a working librarian.
I made one shirt with a library card pocket with the book being checkout out on our wedding and anniversary dates.
The other shirt is the children's bookshelf using the image I made from the side of our seating chart. It was a hard choice but since Ben is a children's librarian it seemed like the logical choice. I may end up having to make more shirts of the other shelves.

Happy Fourth of July!
Today is about getting some extra sleep, reading, working on finishing up the Zodiac collection and eating iced cream.

Twenty Four Days of Star Wars Christmas
Our Lego Star Wars advent calendar toys all lined up.
My favorite was the Millennium Falcon. And the X-wing is pretty good too.
And for some reason Yoda is Santa and has a weird rubber head that is entirely unlego like.
